The work is to show the prettiest of the woman, but also criticize the over-dress-up and over-make-up. The real beauty should not be on the surface, it should be the real part of our heart. Firstly the work shows the beauty of female in the background. It used pink tone to represent female; the background used a spray of ink which means the material of make-up and blushes; The position of woman in the painting are the features of "pretty woman" in our value in nowadays society, that is: long hair, curved body shape, and action of dressing up. Then, most importantly the red yarn represented the details of woman that is as attentive as using needle and yarn to make clothes. Secondly, it criticizes the over-dress-up action. At the end of the drawing, the yarn is destroyed, that·s means the negative problem of the over-dress-up. The more women dress up, the more she destroys.

The aim is to let people think about the status of woman in society. There are positive and negative messages. The three layers firstly bring out the charm and fantasy of female. Secondly, the layers mean the beauty of female in our society is like depart from her soul and left a shell. The beauty is just a shell. Thirdly, the layers also mean the indistinct and untouchable of women. The deeper meaning is that the woman is framed by the wood. It means women usually frame themselves, while the framework is the value set by the society. Women are lack of freedom. Moreover, it also means the window of women's room. When we look at her, just seems like peer at her. It is an interactive artwork and people can peep the woman in the different perspective.

The work is the progress of transformation of the cocoon to butterfly. It is a metaphor for our society. In these long history of human, whatever western or Chinese, women are restricted and framed externally and passively. Especially the trend of binding and tied up the bodies of female, it is the sense of; beauty: set by the society. I hope the work can let women discover: women could fly out the pretty frame as the butterfly get out from the cocoon. The clay represents three remarkable traditions around the world: the Western tie-up waist with shapewear, the Chinese foot-binding, and the neck chain. The lace represented the point of view of; pretty: set by the society. The woman inside that frame just accept it and followed the traditions. But the best is that woman should break the cocoon and the frame of so-called; pretty: and turn into freedom.
